Hydrological observations are carried out by LEGMC at 79 observation stations.

9 coastal hydrological stations are located evenly across The Baltic Sea and Riga Gulf coast and provide coastal observations.

70 hydrological stations carry out surface hydrological observations on Latvian rivers, lakes and reservoirs with that optimal density of observation stations network, what ensures a sufficient quality of the hydrological observations registration and calculations of Latvian major river basins and lakes, as well as rivers which flow into the Baltic Sea and the Riga Gulf.

Stations are fully equipped with the automatic device and provide hydrological data collection and transmission to the database for the further data processing and use.
